Saying Goodbye to Pocket – Our Favourite Reading Tool

As web designers who spends a lot of time online, always come across great articles, tutorials, and blogs. But we didn’t always have the time to read them immediately. That’s when We found Pocket—and it changed how we handled online reading.

We started using Pocket years ago. It became our trusted place to save useful content to read later, whether it was a design guide, a tech article, or even a news article. It worked on all our devices—phone, tablet, desktop and was always just a click away. Whether we are traveling, relaxing at home, or working late, Pocket helped us keep up with what mattered.

Now, Pocket Is Shutting Down

Mozilla has officially announced that Pocket will stop working on July 8, 2025. That means the app, the website, and the browser extension will all shut down. You’ll still be able to export your saved articles until October 8, 2025, but after that, all your saved content will be gone.

If you’re a Pocket Premium subscriber, you’ll get a refund for the remaining period.

Mozilla says they want to focus more on Firefox and browser-based features instead of standalone tools like Pocket.

How We Feel About This

Honestly, we are a bit sad. Pocket wasn’t just another app for us. It was part of our daily routine. We used it to stay updated on web trends, save client-related articles, and read inspiring design ideas in our free time.

We have saved hundreds of articles over the years. It was like having a personal reading library. Saying goodbye feels like losing a long-time assistant.

f you’re like us and relied on Pocket, now’s a good time to move your content and find a new home for your reading list.

Thanks, Pocket, for being such a useful tool all these years.
