After a successful minor update in the 5.6.2 version, now WordPress 5.7 major update will be scheduled to release on March 9, 2021. This update includes resolving 127 bugs and 66 enhancements in the core software. The new features include improved HTTPS detect support, Lazy-load images, admin color palette update, Gutenberg plugin new 9.9 version, and allowing admins to manually send a password reset link to users.
Now the login interface will have “Generate Password” and “Save Password” options also.
Gutenberg plugin versions (9.9 to 10.1) bundiled with WordPress 5.7 will have the following improvements:
- Drag and drop from the inserter
- Full height alignment for blocks
- block variations shown in the block inspector,
- More stability of reusable blocks
- Improved buttons block
- Improved social icons block
- Improved List block
